Broadly defined, our major industries of focus are communications, software, semiconductors, and life sciences. As can be seen from our list of portfolio companies, our investments include internet and intranet applications, software, telecommunications, networking, semiconductor-related, and life science companies. While we have on occasion invested in other areas, we do not encourage the submission of business plans in those areas. Geographically speaking, most of our portfolio companies are based in Silicon Valley. However, this is not an absolute requirement. We have invested in quality companies based in other parts of the United States.
